MY GEAR
Landscape Photography Gear
Digital
Fujifilm X-H2 - My main photography camera. I’ve been shooting the Fujifilm X-Mount system for over ten years, starting with the X-T1. The X-H2 gives me incredible resolution and dynamic range in a compact body, and I love how tactile the fuji system feels in the hand.
Sigma 10-18 F2.8 Lens - Compact, lightweight and no compromises… I love this lens. Perfect for wide vistas and astrophotography, with a constant F2.8 aperture that makes it a staple in my kit.
Fujinon 16-55 F2.8 Lens - This lens lives on my camera. It’s my go to focal range for landscapes. Sharp, versatile and reliable in any condition.
Fujinon 55-200 Lens F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS - My oldest lens, and still one of my favourites. It’s lightweight for a telephoto and delivers great reach for isolating distant scenes. A must have for any landscape photographer.
URTH Magnetic Filter Set (CPL, 3-stop ND & 10-Stop ND) - These fit on my 16-55mm lens natively and adapt perfectly to my other lenses with step-up rings. The magnetic system makes swapping filters in the field effortless.
DJI Mavic 3 Pro Drone - The image quality from this drone is outstanding. I love the unique perspectives I can capture with the built in 24mm and 70mm lenses, and I often use it to shoot aerial footage for my YouTube videos.
35mm Film
Canon AE-1 Program - My go to film body for slowing down and reminding myself to shoot intentionally. With the “Program” feature being broken, it is fully mechanical and feels timeless to use.
Canon 35mm F2.8 FD Lens - A beautiful all rounder for every day scenes.
Canon 50mm F1.8 FD Lens - Incredibly sharp and my favourite lens from this system.
Canon 135mm F3.5 FD Lens - Great for compressing landscapes and isolating details.
URTH Magnetic Filter Set (CPL, 3-stop ND & 10-Stop ND) - All of my FD lenses conveniently share the same size thread, so this filter system works seamlessly across all three.
Accessories
iFootage Gazelle TC7 Carbon Fibre Tripod - This is my main landscape photography tripod. It isn’t the lightest or smallest, but it has no centre column, and is rock solid!
Manfrotto BeFree Carbon Fibre Tripod - A lightweight and compact alternative to my TC7. Perfect for long hikes or travel when I still need a solid tripod.
SmallRig L-Bracket for Fujifilm X-H2 - An absolute must have for landscape work. It lets me switch between portrait and landscape orientation quickly while keeping the centre of gravity over the tripod. This is especially handy when shooting a series of vertical frames for panoramas.
F-Stop Ajna Backpack (with Medium ICU) - Comfortable, durable and perfectly sized for single day trips. The ICU system keeps my gear organised and protected in the field.
Video Gear
Main Video Kit
Fujifilm X-H2S - An absolute weapon of a video camera, and identical form factor to my X-H2. With IBIS and great colour straight out of camera, it’s the perfect body for filming my YouTube videos (and a great backup body for my landscape photography)
Fujinon 18-55 F2.8-4 Lens - Light, compact and surprisingly capable. It’s the lens I use most for my video work in the field.
URTH VND Filter - Essential for maintaining a 180° shutter while keeping a shallow depth of field in bright outdoor conditions.
DJI OSMO Action 4 - My main “vlog” camera in the field. Compact, durable, and incredible image quality for its size. Being an action camera, it can also be used to capture some pretty unique perspectives
DJI Mic 2 - Connects directly to the Osmo Action 4 with zero fuss — clean audio, simple setup.
Rode VideoMicro - This lives on my X-H2S and handles most of my in-field audio recording.
Extras
Rode Wireless Go II Kit - When environmental noise or distance is an issue, this is my go-to wireless setup for clear, consistent sound when filming with my X-H2S.
SmallRig Video Light - Used for low-light setups in the van or evening recording sessions. It’s compact, reliable, and easy to mount anywhere.
DJI Air 2S Drone - My backup video drone, or my choice when I need to travel light on long hikes. Still delivers excellent image quality.
Camping Gear
2024 LWB VW Transporter Campervan - My pride and joy! Completely custom built by myself, specifically for my needs as a photographer.
Marmot Tungston 1P Tent - Compact, quick to pitch, and reliable in bad weather. I’ve spent many nights camping in the wilderness in this tent.
Sea To Summit Ultralight Insulated Mat - Lightweight, packs down small, and surprisingly comfortable after a long hike. It’s just a little noisy when rolling around because of the built in insulation layer… but not a problem if I’m alone in the middle of nowhere.
Sea To Summit Aeros Premium Pillow - The difference between a good and a bad sleep, A non negotiable for me!
Marmot Sleeping Bag - This is my winter sleeping bag. It’s incredible warm and comes with me during winter when hiking or sleeping in the van.
Alton Ultralight Chair & Table - These live in my van, they take up no room and are perfect for relaxing outdoors between shoots.
Darche 310x310mm Fire Pit - Another item that lives in my van. I do a lot of fire cooking on this, but it’s also great for creating that little bit of atmosphere at camp after a long day shooting.
